Wild Flowers
Narcissus
Narcissus
(Amaryllidaceae)
|
Many years ago Bulbs were planted, by my parents, in several areas to add color in the late
winter and spring. With a week of warm weather in mid February this
bulb decided to bloom. This bulb is located near the old cabin in the
flower bed.
I don't believe
this is a native flower to this area but research continues as to its native origins.
Common names: Daffodil,
Jonquil
Family: Amaryllidaceae
There were several
sites that said this bulb comes on the tail end of winter to announce the
coming spring. It is a welcome sight after this wet winter.
