Wild Flower
2
This is similar to Sanicula arctopoides, also called Footsteps Of Spring or
Yellow Mats. It's in the family Apiaceae. The leaves are similar
but different by the flower and base. It is a lower elevation
plant, below 1,000 ft. and is not known to be at 1800 ft. where Quailhaven
is.
I believe however it may be a different species of
the family Apiaceae. There are about 3,000 different species in that
family.
This wild flower was found near the old cabin in full sun. There are
lots of these flowers in many sunny areas. They began appearing in April.
It does have a tap root.
I added a new picture of this plant hoping some
will be able to recognize it.
Identification
of this wild flower is yet to be determined.
